No entry fee, but if you want to make a donation of say, 10 bucks to help cover expenses, that would be cool. Juniors are free. If you are broke or forget to bring any $$, feel free to show up and ride ayway. You need a USAC (road or MTB) license to ride. A one-day license costs $5. I do not keep this, it goes straight to USAC.

Deadman/Pine Flat Directions & info:
Take Roosevelt directions but do not go right on Public School Rd, instead continue on NM337 (old South 14) about 7.5 miles. (About 4 miles past the Otero Trailhead.) There will be a small sign on the left that says Deadman. Ride down the dirt road about 1/4mi to the start.  Pine Flat is about 1/4 mile before Deadman, also on the left.
Courses wil be mostly singletrack conected with some dirt road sections. Singletrack varies from wide beaten bike/motorcycle trails to vaguely defined goatpaths. Since this is upper Cedro, rock gardens are a condiment and not the main course. No goatheads. 7-13 & 20 courses will be very doable on a cross bike, but will have a few rocky sections that will favor MTB's. The 7-27 course will be less cross bike friendy with a few more rocky/steep sections. All kids courses will be ok on a CX bike.

2nd Street Crit info:
Directions: By bike, take the bosque bike path south past Rio Bravo until it curves east and comes to 2nd. Take 2nd south about 2.5 miles to course. In an automobile exit I-25 on Rio Bravo, take Rio bravo to 2nd and then go south about 4.5mi.
Course will be cloced to traffic, except for the residents along the route. Bring lots of water.
The crit will have two groups+ fixies. Beginner will be cat4+5men, women, juniors: 45mins,4PM. Cat 4s who have placed top 5 at any TNC "B" race or NMBRA race must race open at 5PM. Open is everyone else:1hr.
Fixies
(6:15PM) must be USAC track legal bikes, no brakes, no bullhorn bars, no freewheels, and will do about 15-20 mins. You must also have a helmet. If you have a brake you can unhook the cable. If you have $5 or $10, bring it and it would help out.  If you don't, come and ride anyway, and don't worry about it.

Roosevelt Directions & info: Go east from Albuquerque to the Tijeras exit. Exit and go right at the Y. The road will bend right and come to a light, and there will be a Subway on your right. Go through the light and continue about 1/4 mi to your first paved right which will be Public School Rd which will wind downhill to the start area.
Course is roling winding singletrack with some road sections inbetween. Course will be doable on a CX bike but will have a few rocky/bumpy/twisty sections that will favor the MTB's.  Slime recmmended.

Washington Crit Directions & Info From Paseo del Norte & Jefferson, take the frontage road on the north side of Paseo to Washington. Go north about 1/2 mile to Washingon Pl. Go left to start. We will go tempo for about the first 20mins then open for another 30 or so. We are going to try doing a big ~.7mi trapezoid around the whole office park, if this does not work out, we will do an L shaped Mexican crit with a 180 at each end. The area is practically deserted, but the course will be open to traffic. We do not have a closure permit; we are will just be riding around on public streets. Riders will need to watch for a rare stray car and should stay on their side of the yellow line.

Century Rio Crit Directions & Info. Office area behing the Century Rio Theater.  On a bike you can just take the bikepath north from UNM to Singer, and go right on Midway Park, then left on Commons.  In a car exit I-25 on Jefferson, left on Singer, left on Office, right on Commons.  The course is an "L" with a 180 at each end. As at the Washington course the area is practically deserted, but the course will be open to traffic. We do not have a closure permit; we are will just be riding around on public streets. Riders will need to watch for a rare stray car and should stay on their side of the yellow line. We will go tempo for about the first 20mins then open for another 30 or so.  We may have a fixie group here also, if they think they will be ok with a Mexican crit.

The Legal Fine Print: To be held under USA Cycling Non-
competitive event permit. USAC license required. If you do not have a license you can purchase a one Day license for $5. Note that if you go to a normal race (under a competittive permit) a one-day costs $10.  Onsite registration only.  Promoting clubs Team Cross and Team Cafe Giuseppe. No prizes will be given and informal results will not be usable towards category upgrade. Helmets Required. These are, legally speaking, insured training rides or practice sessions, basically like playing pickup soccer at the park. Obviously we ride around as fast as we can as if it were le Coupe du Monde, but most of us ride like that a lot when we are alone as well. The sponsors of this event help us pay the insurance and other costs for the series. Please patronize them.

Note on weather:
We will generally run these rain or shine or whatever.
If it is really bad (lightning, hail, icy roads) call 2596885 to check if the event is still going to happen.

Beginners, -14 kids: There will be a beginner/Kids course at each one of the MTB circuits. We want to make these where anyone who has just ridden their MTB around a little can show up get a feel for MTB racing in an inexpensive and informal setting.

Note on forms:
As we are holding these as late as possible, so the faster you can get signed up, the better. It helps a lot if you print out a form, fill in everything but the date and signature, run off some copies and bring them out ready to go. Be sure and write your license number on the top of the form even though there (strangely) is not a blank for it.  A USAC Non-Competitive Release is required. Get the .PDF here.
You could also get extra forms from us, I will bring spares.
