Directions: Take I-25 south from Albuquerque about 13 miles to the Los Lunas exit. Take Main St/Hwy 6 about 3mi to the east. About 1/4 mile after crossing the river, look for signs for the parking lot. Note that this is about 400ft past the race venue. We do not have permission to park anywhere else, so do so at your own risk, and you may get towed. Particularly the city of Los Lunas as asked that we do not park in the small lot adjacent to the race venue.

Nice old school bosque course with some really cool little bermed corners and some technical bits. I thought that since most of the foks in the Albuquerque area ride the bosque quite a bit, it would be approiate to have a bosque race. There will be some sand, how difficult it will be will depend on how much rain we get to firm it up. I will do my best to make the course favor MTBs over cross bikes, but the couse can be ridden on a cross bike if that is all you have.  If you do a CX bike 40mm tires would be better than 33s. There are almost no rocks, but there is some sand and some corners that I think will be faster on MTB tires. I have been riding it on my hardtail with a rigid fork, and it feels pretty good.  It is theoretically flat but there are a lot of little 6ft to 8ft up and down sections. Race will be kind of in between a short track and a normal CX race.

Day Two 3/31 Roosevelt Middle School Circuit.

10:00AM 1PM times distances and categories TBA.
We may change times and combine categories depending on registration numbers, or to make the categories work out better.  Check back on this website on 3/28 for any registration based changes.

Directions: Take I-40 east from Albuquerque about 6 miles to the Tijeras exit, the road will "Y" right off the exit. Go right. (Left takes you to Sandia Peak) The road will curve to the right and come to a stoplight. Go striaght past the stoplight to a fire station. This will be Public School Rd. Go right down to the start. Closer parking places will be reserved for the pickleball (gym tennis) people. There will be signs showing this.

Course: Probably about a 2.5 mile circuit, with single track alternating with dirt or paved road so riders can pass. Classic course that has been used for numerous Tuesday Night races. Several short hills per lap. Trails are smooth or a little rocky, running through the Pinon and Juniper woods behind the school. Expect a few technical parts. Beautiful venue between the Sandia and Manzano Mts.

You will need to pay at the race even if you are preregistered, but all your info will already be entered, and we will have some idea of how many riders to expect. You will also save $10. There will be a 15 rider minimum for this event. I have a card reader on my phone so you can pay with a card at the race. Online registration will close at 6AM on 3/28/19. Links to Registriation will be below when ready.

What is this $5 administrative fee business?
Starting in with the 10/2/18 race, I will be charging a $5 once per year fee for any Hawke Races. So you pay the $5 at the first Hawke Races event and you do and need not do so again until the beginning of my next insurance year, which will be the beginning of October 2019. This will include Tuesday or weekend races.
I buy my insurance per rider per year. So someone who shows up and does NMCX race or one crit costs me about $5. Someone like Eric Mease who does like 20 races, also costs me $5 for all the 20 races he does. My insurance costs went up about 40% this year as I had a lot of riders that just did one event. So instead of raising entry fees, I feel that this system adds a slight incentive for riders who do several of my races. Also I think it is fairer, as it charges the riders in proportion to the way I get billed.
